Whether you're choosing to switch from septic to sewer, your local community is requiring it, or your property presents no other option we're here to help make the process as frustation-free and affordable as possible.
When switching from septic to sewer the first step is determining if it's possible. Is it possible and is it allowed in your community. Is it feasible. We can help with all of this.
Septic to sewer service will require permits. Don't fret, we can help you with that too. If septic to sewer conversion is something you're interested in, Atlantis Plumbing is the full-service expert to help you accomplish that goal.
Once permits are approved, the site needs to be excavated - the trench for the new sewer line must be made. The new sewer line will need to be installed on a grade - a downward slope from the home to the city sewer line. If the property doesn't meet the necessary grade, an ejector pump will be needed - another service we offer.
Some properties may already have a sewer tap on the city sewer line. If not, Atlantis Plumbing can handle this part of the septic to sewer conversion as well. We have a vast amount of experience installing sewer taps - the actual connection from the home's sewer line to the municipality's sewer main.
Once the sewer tap is installed and the new sewer line is set local government will inspect the new sewer line. Once approved we will backfill and compact the trenchline.
After passing inspection of the new sewer line, you will also need to take care of your old septic system. This includes decommissioning the septic tank - pumping it out, crushing the lid, and filling it with compactable fill or #57 stone. We also recommend breaking the bottom of the tank to allow for groundwater drainage.
Septic to sewer conversion is a big project to undertake and should be put in the hands of trusted professionals. Atlantis Plumbing is licensed, insured, and very experienced in septic to sewer conversions. Call today for more information!
